"Migration", "Politics" and "Religious confession and economics" are the themes which form the narrative of the permanent exhibition "The History of Switzerland". It spans the early modern period up to the present day in our country's history. A special highlight is the Dufour map found in part three of the exhibition. It was the first topographical map covering the whole of Switzerland. The cartographic work was completed 150 years ago and served as Switzerland's national map up until 1939. Approximately 800 items illustrating Switzerland's history are complemented by numerous media stations throughout the exhibition. Especially younger visitors to the museum will also enjoy exploring the exhibition's themes and displays using an interactive app.
