The relations that bond in a dreamy way, human beings with rest of nature; the connection with the world of bizarre, animated by fantastic characters at the borders of a dreamy waking and a realistic nightmare; an old passion  for fairytales, myths, legends and symbolism; the dimension of the interior imagination,  are the base of Luisa Catucci’s works and research. Each piece culls directly from nature replete with a humanistic narrative and unique style. Using an amazing array of colors, shadows and contrasts – light-filled photographs express a range of emotion that stimulate the eye and the mind and are laced with both psychological and pop-cultural references, while maintaining a pointed, art-historical context by virtue of their medium and composition. Ranging from mythology to contemporary subculture, Luisa Catucci’s works combine classic, illustrative elements with photography and digital collage.   In her photo-paintings, models -often tattoed and pierced – are juxtaposed with historical and mythological references, bringing the roots of Western culture into a contemporary format.
