Founded in 2001 by Park Kyung-mee, Commissioner of the Korean Pavilion in the Venice Biennale of the same year, PKM GALLERY has positioned itself at the forefront of contemporary art within Korea, China and in the international art market.
PKM GALLERY's program presents broad ranging issues and trends in contemporary art throughout its three venues in Seoul and Beijing. The gallery's represented artists include Darren Almond, Young-whan Bae, Hyunjhin Baik, Cody Choi, Jonas Dahlberg, Olafur Eliasson, Steven Gontarski, Sangbin Im, Ham Jin, Michael Joo, Byron Kim, Jiwon Kim, Sanggil Kim, Lee Bul, Noori Lee, Sangnam Lee, Michael Craig-Martin, Moon Beom, Bruce Nauman, Jorge Pardo, Chan-kyong Park, and others.
Located in the central Sagandong area of Seoul, PKM GALLERY SEOUL houses three floors of exhibition space, with a total of 3,500 square feet. In the fall of 2006, PKM GALLERY expanded into China opening a large gallery with over 8,000 square feet of exhibition space being one of the first major international galleries in the Caochangdi art district of Beijing. In the short time since then, the gallery's international outlook and challenging program has firmly cemented its reputation as one of the premier galleries in Beijing.
PKM GALLERY has launched its third space PKM TRINITY GALLERY with about 6,000 square feet of exhibition space in Seoul's Cheongdam area, a new center for art galleries and high-fashion brands. Its inaugural exhibition in April 2008 is New York based Korean artist Sangnam Lee's solo exhibition.
