I prefer artist's over celebrities. I am social and enjoy company as much as anyone. Nothing wrong with smiles and high spirits, I'm not anti-social at all, but it seems that an artist must work hard and suffer if he is to realize and express what it is to be human. That, for me, is Art.

About my work
About work:
I have been a photographer for 30 years. I still use film, yet I'm always trying something new.
I’ve always considered myself more of an artisan, builder and storyteller. I took up photography because I couldn’t write, draw or paint. I always enjoy the telling of a good story. I had an overactive imagination & a big mouth
My style:
This portfolio of photographs represents nearly 40 years of sometimes serious work. Mostly photography, woodwork and marquetry, this is what I’ve always done in my free and spare time. My only regret is that I wish there was more. In June 2010 I retired from my engineers job to work full time as an artist. This is probably as close as I’ll ever get to a ‘retrospective’
I work with these materials:
Now that I’ve acquired a little more discipline, future plans include projects for building, shaping and expanding the boundries of rectangular frames, similar to the work of Elizabeth Murray. By combining images, building collages as shaped, three dimensional painted canvases, I hope to continue working another 30 years trying to express the universal themes without seeming too eccentric or bizarre. I hope to remain creative while simply recording the latest crisis and revealing the issues we all live with.
My message:
Never give up, keep trying... As an artist you cannot fail, being an artist is success
About art
How I got into art:
I didnt get into art, Art got into me. At a very young age, as long as I can remember, I've been building things, some things better than others. Most people are Artist in their own way. Art expresses our Humanity. Many thing can be artistic. A garden can be art, a motorcycle can be art. Preparing food can be artistic.
What art means to me:
Art expresses what it is to be Human. Our emotions, dreams and nightmares.
My favourite artists:
Van Gogh, Pollack, deKooning
Most impressive piece of art of another artist:
Guernica by Picasso
My favourite art books:
Stickley Furniture and Tiffany Glass
What has changed in the world of art in recent years:
