Born in Bern (Switzerland) she has been working in Italy for the most part of her life.
Mirella is a digital artist, emotional photographer and a designer.
Her work as a cultural manager and her interest in art and culture has brought her to travel around the world, in particular, in Asia, due to her attraction to the culture of this part of the world.
In 1994 she spent several month in South India, together with Casimiro Mondino, to collect materials for their multimedia project "An Indian Diary", published in 1996, which consists in a travel tale, a 200 b/w photo gallery and is completed by an exhausting introduction to the history and culture of the Indian Subcontinent. The multimedia work was considered "the opening of a new multimedia gender" .
In 1998 she discovers the digital art world and starts experimenting this media.
Her natural skills in visual arts brings her in 2003 to a new experience as an artist and as a designer. Together with her partner and husband Casimiro Mondino, she has worked in their design studio near Milan. She is the author of many successful fine fragrance lines for fashion brands such as Moschino, Canali, Byblos, Baldinini, Braccialini, as well as Alessandro dell'Acqua, Mariella Burani, Krizia and many others. As a multidisciplinary designer, she continuously explores new horizons designing from tableware and lighting to home accessories and decorations.
Simultaneously she continues her personal research as an artist, exploring different media. In 2002 she has discovered digital photography as one of her preferred ways of expression in combination with other techniques.
