About my work
About work:
Exploring relationship between colour and line and flattened forms. Impact of emotional stimuli on the mind and sub- concious- translated to paint , held by line.
My style:
abstraction - line, colour.
My concept :
To explore a new visual territory via patterns , colour and line, unique design, un influenced by the work of others...originality pervades.
I work with these materials:
canvas- oil, enamel mixers
What kind of materials I prefer:
oil on canvas-board, enamel paint to increase base -volume.
What inspires me?:
emotions- link to colour themes and use of line.
Favorite work and why:
Rothko- colour fields- choice of mood to colour to emotion..
My message:
To explore new colour theory and depiction of emotion through colour line.
About art
How I got into art:
from childhood to adult- drew and painted contiuously.
What art means to me:
personal exploration towards an unknown outcome..
My favourite artists:
Rothko, Pollack, Grimshaw , Schiele
Most impressive piece of art of another artist:
work by the Futurists, especially sculpture.
My favourite art books:
too numerous to list. Diary of Atkinson Grimshaw perhaps...
What has changed in the world of art in recent years:
advent of the Internet- Media...artists are exposed to the public more often, more easily...art styles divergent , no real direction ...anything goes, literally..definitions of art boundaries pushed to new heights...
