My grandmother died awfully young (for a grandmother) and just out of reach of the space-age electronic equipment that we supposed would let her and all her friends live on far past one hundred. I think they were told their only restrictive issue might be skin decomposition around 115-120. Or being bored. Me and all my friends are promised 150 years or more by the people who know how things ought to turn out. So, obviously, we all smoke. A lot. I’m waiting for the smoke-lung-fixing-it’sallokay machine. It’ll be around soon I suppose (I think I read that in National Geographic… although that doesn’t seem right because this information has practically nothing to do with geography besides vague demographic implications). Whatever the case may be I think it’s great to know. Really. I’m terribly busy and can hardly be bothered at this juncture of my professional career to consider my cholesterol or blood pressure or any of that. Luckily these doctors are all out working hard somewhere and they’ve really freed me up from thoughts of any unnecessary health related issues. The only thing I worry about is that I’ll merely be maintained until I die as opposed to being rigorously improved upon. I imagine myself in the best shape of my life, flexing my bulging little square set of abs at 135 years old. Maybe I’ll write a letter to someone and inquire about this possibility.
