The perplexing thing about labeling atypical sexual interests a mental disorder is the plethora of insanity that exists in this world that isn’t considered atypical. People carry on with life uncritical of the world around them, perpetually enchanted by the next this or that or themselves. So what if sexual arousal comes in the form of deviant activities—if I don’t intentionally cause harm to others then where is the malice? Winding up this way, and how I got here, was an exhilarating experience comparable to nothing else. It has changed the way I see things forever. It has changed the way I will experience life forever. It has changed me for the better.
