As a cop I must admit that keeping up with the times is no small task. It’s especially difficult with weapons- guns, knives, poison, bombs etc. The fate that two enemies with simple stones might encounter could easily be decided by luck; a chance throw, good timing or choice of stone. When one of them shows up with a knife though, everything changes. Scales are tipped and altered forever. No going back. Now everyone fights with knives and, of course, one day someone arrives with a gun and the process is repeated. This repeats until the weapons are too deadly for anyone to use at all. What once were cracked skulls and cut-throats become incinerated, suffocated, exploded and melted masses of people. Suddenly the whole planet can be destroyed by any angry idiot with a little bit of money. Turns out though that nobody knows how to fight with weapons like that. So eventually everybody just says to hell with itand starts using stones again. Come feast or famine there’ll always be a bunch of those just laying around. That’s how this all started in the first place.
