These hard shells everywhere that keep me calm, I make sure to keep them clean. For every season, month and week and day they need care and attention, lest they gather thick films and drive me up the wall. Oh yes I’m in regular attendance at the church of spotlessness, the altar of disinfectant and the pew for perfect and pristinely placed piles of porcelain. The landscapes in my dreams stretch on forever with shiny surfaces gleaming with the sleek wet of antibacterial wipes. My big secret, I like the dirt. It gives me something to do and look forward to. If things stayed clean forever I’ll be wandering amiss like an old whale hunting boat in an empty sea. Even though I dream of eradicating dirt I’d hardly be able to go on if I were to ever somehow succeed.
