Classic cars are like fine wine and beautiful women, always a good time. And let me tell you, it’s what’s under the hood that counts. Especially with its B20 engine and 120 horsepower this ride makes me feel like I am OSS117 in a “Heiße Hölle Bangkok” movie. I’m the first to admit that technology allows for faster and more accurate efficiency. But sometimes all of technology swirling around us on a daily basis seems to make life more complicated. Leaving us with fifty-button remote controls, digital cameras with hundreds of mysterious features and cars with dashboard systems worthy of a space shuttle. This is the very reason I love this Helmer Petterson engineered classic. The moment my hands grip the wheel and I press my lead foot to the pedal, nostalgia sweeps over me like a drug. Like a glossy leather interior time machine she transports me back to my romanticized and simplified life of the 60’s. Driving her is more than just a feel; it’s an addiction. A heady combination of a roaring engine, speed and control. Driving her is a breath of freedom. She takes me back; back to a time when Roger Moore would give you a cheeky wink when the lady of your dreams jumps in the passenger seat with you.
