Michel Soskine Inc. was founded in 1984 in New York and in 2005 expanded opening a new gallery space in Madrid, Spain. The gallery specializes in 20th and 21st century art.
Through gallery exhibitions and international art fairs such as Art Brussels, The Armory Show, ARCOmadrid or Art Paris, Michel Soskine has introduced young and mid career artists both in the United States and Europe.
Over these many years, the gallery aims to offer artistic works of exceptional interest, through personal choices that do not preclude diversity.
Besides the contemporary artists represented, the gallery owns a collection of works by renowned artists of the 20th century. Thus, Michel Soskine Inc. has also presented theme group exhibitions such as "Self-portraits", "Masks and Faces" or "El Intruso", as well as several group exhibitions, organized with the aim to juxtapose young artists with modern masters such as Giacometti, Max Ernst and Kupka.
Furthermore, the gallery has published catalogs with texts by noted authors such as Umberto Eco, Leonora Carrington, James Lord and Marcos Barnatan in addition to placing important works in several public collections including the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the Georges Pompidou Center, the Louisiana Museum, The Sainsbury Center for the Arts, The Getty Museum, The Art Institute of Chicago, Fundación Telefonica, Fondation Guerlain and others.
