While on sabbatical in 2000, Antoinette began working in an art gallery as a sales associate and “Fell in love with the business”. Later she became gallery director. “It was during this period I met Mark Cottman and we began a wonderful working relationship. We never tire of talking about and looking at art particularly his. When I went to visit him in his studio for the first time I was overwhelmed by his creative unique concepts, vibrant use of color, and his enormous body of work.

Antoinette holds a Bachelor’s Degree, majoring in fine art with a minor in education.She is skilled in the areas of drawing, painting, and ceramics and enjoys each as a medium. In the field of education, Antoinette has enjoyed a successful teaching career and has taught art in the finest public school systems in Virginia and Maryland.

Antoinette was asked to be gallery director in April 2010. To the gallery, Antoinette brings 11 years of experience in the art gallery business and in the area of custom framing. She also has five years museum curatorial experience. “ I have worked with talented artists and fine art collections from around the world and now I have the privilege and great opportunity to represent Mark Cottman Gallery. I’m excited everyday when I walk into the gallery because of the positive atmosphere. I’m passionate about art and I encourage all of you to visit and support art galleries. Take the time to look at art, ask questions about art, talk about art, collect art, learn how to care for and preserve art but mostly, I encourage you to develop a deep respect and appreciation for works of art and the artists who create them, for a work of art will always and forever bring you joy.”
