The mission of a contemporary art gallery, in addition to its commercial function, is to challenge the viewer and allow him to catch a glimpse of the future, since art lies ahead of us. Gallery C is a new contemporary art space in Western Switzerland of over 300 square meters of museum quality, airy, simple and elegant, designed to highlight the works. It was completely renovated in 2008. It is located in the center of the city of Neuchâtel, in the building of the Museum of Art and History, next to the lake. In his first season, the Gallery C offers thematic collective exhibitions with artists of international renown. The titles are BORN – CRI – Menscape – XXS-XXL – Would the Christ have been gay? – Perf O. We stand for high artistic quality, one that transcends borders and the diversity of medias, be it painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, video, photography, performance. Each year we choose an associate artist who is invited to work with our team. We exhibit his works in several shows during the season and invite him at their openings. The associated artist of the 2011-2012 season is Guy Oberson. As gallery owner, I consider that art is not an objet of consumption. Dissemination of art is my mission. Gallery C is a place where the alchemy of meetings occurs, where links are created. A place where the works come to life, a space where beauty is conveyed. Christian Egger
