About

Fotogalleriet [Format] is a volunteer-run gallery that has been operating in Malmö since 1983. The gallery’s ultimate objective is to show art and documentary photography of the highest class. It is to be a forum for photography in southern Sweden to help explore the application field of photography through collaborations, curated work, events, and foremost the exhibitions. The gallery sets out to be a resource and a meeting place for the cultural life of Malmö and the entire region.
Fotogalleriet [Format] is a non-profit, nonpartisan and nonreligious organisation, open for everyone who has an interest in photography as a form of expression.
Most of the gallery’s resources are grants from Malmö Stad and Kulturrådet.
