About
Established in 1990, Brian Gross Fine Art specializes in contemporary painting, sculpture, photography, and works on paper. The gallery features a diversity of artists, ranging from strong emerging talent to established modern masters. BGFA is located in the premier gallery building in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill.
After 23 years in the Union Square district, Brian Gross Fine Art is one of the forerunners creating a new visual arts district in San Francisco. Our landmark space at 248 Utah Street is a spacious new venue in a vibrant neighborhood that is home to the CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts and adjacent to the city’s Design District. In collaboration with award-winning San Francisco architect Karin Payson, a former 1930’s door factory has been transformed into an elegant, minimalist space to complement and showcase contemporary art. The exhibition space features expansive high ceilings and original windows that beautifully capture the natural light of the city. This bold relocation of BGFA adds to the emerging cultural character of the neighborhood, along with other galleries, restaurants and bookstores, and we are pleased to be part of a broader vision for San Francisco’s cultural vista.
Brian Gross Fine Art maintains an active exhibition program, mounting approximately nine exhibitions per year. BGFA’s record has been distinguished by numerous critical reviews in the local and national art press, and has won the respect of artists, collectors, museum curators and colleagues.
