Zita Vilutyte is a Lithuanian artist with a large trajectory in her country as abroad. She has developed her own style, as much in painting as in graphic, theatre and music. Her deep experience in Art, teaching, offering courses, seminars, performances and so on, have given her a broad range of understanding the human nature, psychological and socio-cultural relationships among people.
Further, Zita Vilutyte has entered through out her personal style in a fashion that is represented by her own search in the whole Universe. It means, she does not belong to any particular style or school. Instead of that, she considers her whole art as being part of the full existence looking forward towards the ultimate integration where it may not possible recognize art from the ‘self’ of human beings, it is to say, where art should reach the absolute correspondence with nature and the human existence.
Zita Vilutyte’s art represent her own way of living. There is not a gap between her daily life and her art, both are connected by a subtle link that brings the artist to live her life according to her bind to Life. That said, does not mean that Zita´s life and art are out of the reality, on the contrary, the artist is plenty connected with the profound changes in the world structure but keeping strongly tied to the unit and therefore breaking out with the ‘fragmentation’ of contemporary art and understanding. According to this, it is possible to say that Zita Vilutyte’s art is ‘the art of hope’, an art that shows the resistance of the human soul still when it has been broken and degraded until the last consequences that is reflected in our contemporary modernity where the emptiness, the individualism, the confusion, the desperation, the consumerism and the human being degradation does not have paradigm and the mankind has lost its being completely. In that way, Vilutyte’s works search the primitive pattern which may do us to re-capture the true existence. In doing that, Zita seeks through anthropology, ethnology, psychology, philosophy, folklore and so on. Thus, for Zita there is not other way than ‘creation’ as a full meaning. This creation is represented by herself as graphic, composer, painter, but better said, as herself has called her own way of creation: ‘holistic’. Meaning by this, the unit, where a color is at the same time music, or movement; where a musical note is a motion or a line and so on. There are not detached ways on Zita Vilutyte’s art. Once you enter, you will find yourself and the ‘self’ of everybody. Finally, Zita pushes us to embrace the highest hope that it is possible to re-build other world where the material life can meet its counterpart, the spiritual life and through this to rich the necessary communion between women, men and the nature. Zita Vilutyte’s art is the representation that it is possible to re-build a better world.
